This exhibition presents a focused selection of paintings by Marie-Lucie Nessi, depicting a range of settings, including winter scenes, summer landscapes, street views, and a rare abstracted landscape.
Trained in Paris at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, Nessi studied under André Lhote, whose emphasis on compositional clarity and pictorial construction informed her approach throughout her career. In these works, structure and color are carefully calibrated, allowing each motif to be treated with economy and precision.
Rather than following a chronological narrative, the exhibition highlights Nessi’s sustained attention to place and atmosphere, and her ability to adapt a consistent pictorial language to varied subjects and conditions. Seen together, these paintings reflect a practice grounded in observation and formal coherence, developed through travel and long-term studio work.
